Every designer wants to be up to date with the latest in the field, and it is also good to know about current trends in the market. In addition to the usual responsive website, a design should above all be unique. In fact, web design is so dynamic, that things considered the fresh and modern couple of years ago nowadays might seem to be completely out of date.

“No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google”

Matt Cutts of Google is on record as saying;

“someone walked up to me and pretended like he wanted to bribe me: $500,000 for a 1st place ranking. I turned him down, because no one can guarantee a #1 ranking, not even me.”

Is SEO Easy?

SEO is tough. No, it’s easy… You have to read through a pile of stuff to get some idea of the complexity involved. All companies out there want to be on page one of google when a punter keys in a search that relates to them. To get there involves money and time – lots of time.. unless you have something to offer that is totally unique. Anyone who tells you it’s easy is not an expert in SEO and not telling the truth.

What are bots? There are a few definitions..

From Wikipedia.. “An Internet bot, also known as web robot, WWW robot or simply bot, is a software application that runs automated tasks (scripts) over the Internet. Typically, bots perform tasks that are both simple and structurally repetitive, at a much higher rate than would be possible for a human alone. The largest use of bots is in web spidering (web crawler), in which an automated script fetches, analyses and files information from web servers at many times the speed of a human. More than half of all web traffic is made up of bot”

Google SOS Alert

 In July 2017 Google launched SOS Alert for both search and maps, having recognised the need for digital access to timely, accountable information in times of crisis. Google has collaborated with immediate response organisations and government agencies such as Red Cross, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration and more.

Snapchat's new 'Snap Map' feature lets you stalk your friends in real time

The new snapchat feature allows users to share their location with each other. Users can choose whether to share their location (on a map) with a few or all their friends. You are able to turn of the feature but most won’t so it’ll be possible to just stalk your friends - you can search the map in ‘Ghost mode’ – when this is enabled your friends will not be able to see your location, but you can see theirs.

Well, “The case stems from claims by a company called Equustek Solutions Inc, from British Columbia that manufactures network devices, that a distributor, Datalink Technologies Gateways, relabelled one of its products and sold it as its own online and acquired trade secrets to design and manufacture a competing product.
